Meet the MLCC Board

CHRIS BOUCHER/ PRESIDENT

ProfilePicture_edited.png

Chris moved to Gloucester in 2002 and quickly fell in love with its natural beauty and rich character. He landed in Magnolia in 2009, became involved with the Magnolia Road Race soon thereafter and joined the MLCC Board of Directors in 2017. He is regularly amazed that an institution such as the Magnolia Library can be so well sustained by the generosity of the community and thrilled at the recent revival of its book collection.

NYING GALLO/ SECRETARY

Nying loves to read, hike, and travel the world! Working in Magnolia, she instantly fell in love with the community. Nying wears many hats. When not busy with secretarial duties of our board, you can find her volunteering as a librarian and serving the community via her position on the Magnolia Farmer's Market board. Nying is a Harry Potter fan and avid Science -Fiction and Fantasy reader.

ALANA HORNE/ VICE PRESIDENT AND RENTAL COORDINATOR

Raised in Bay View, Alana has lived in Magnolia for 12 years and served on the board for 8 years.
Affectionately called the "Zookeeper",  Alana has worked for various local businesses like the Bridge Cape Ann and 1623 studio. Currently, she is the administrative executive for Yankee Capts offshore fishing out of Key West and administrative assistant for local philanthropic organization, The Dusky Fund. When she is not busy with her 2 kids, new grand baby and rental coordinator duties at the library, you can also find her serving Magnolia in a variety of other ways. Not only has Alana worked on the Magnolia Pier fundraising committee as a  founding member of the Magnolia Fund, but she is also director of the Magnolia Farmer's Market board as well. Her favorite books are the ones she can read at the beach... where you will likely find her fulfilling all her mermaid fantasies.

Kiley, a Gloucester girl to the core, was born and raised on Portugie Hill, but settled in Magnolia with her husband Chris Doe.  She can frequently be found around Magnolia walking her dog Pippa or chasing her children Kendall and Maverick. Kiley is an avid reader and her favorite books are The Great Gatsby and A Wrinkle In Time.

ROB MORAN

MARGARET MAYER/ HEAD LIBRARIAN

Rob has been living in Magnolia for almost 15 years, and can usually be found either walking his dog Maggie around Magnolia, at a local sports field or Magnolia Beach. Thanks to his amazing wife Liz, he is (barely) keeping up with all the activities of his three kids Kellen, Ty and Maeve. Maeve is an active and enthusiastic member of MAX at MLCC. In his spare time Rob is an avid Boston sports fan, coach and washed up athlete. And lists Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” series and Anne Lammott’s “Bird by Bird” as some favorite reads (when time and energy permit!).

on the board of Chorus North Shore. Margaret enjoys pottery and membership in Rocky Neck Art Colony.

She pinches herself daily, that she gets to live in such a beautiful place among such great neighbors here in beautiful Magnolia.
